Dose: #22 Mental Alertness

Are you aware of your surroundings? Are you mindful of day to day happenings in the physical world around you? Are you alert to the felt yet unseen spiritual world that wars for your mind and soul every hour, every minute of the day? Are you cognitive that the supernatural realm effects the natural world? We know that our adversary roams around LIKE a roaring lion. But stay alert, on guard, and ready because he is a counterfeit liar and no match for the Lion of Judah, Jesus who lives in Us! When we are alert, we have more knowledge and power to advance the Kingdom!

Example: Distractions and business can dull your senses! Don’t be caught off guard by today’s troubles, set backs, negativity or fiery darts that may come your way. They are a natural illusion that can blind you to what’s at work spiritually!

Healthy Choice: Today I can recognize that most set backs are set ups! I can keep my mind alert to situations as they come, stay in a positive mindset and ask myself, “Why might this be happening at this time”? I can choose to be calm and wait for revelation and unfolding of plans rather than panic or poor coping choices. I can pray for answers!

Diet Tip: Food is Fuel! Boost your Energy and Focus with Blueberries, Dark Chocolate, or Nuts with a cup of Green Tea!

Daily Devotional: Colossians 3:2

Dose: #21 Emotional Acceptance

Have you ever felt strong negative emotions that you chose to avoid and stuff down? Negative emotions can be accepted and in turn become good. When we avoid these emotions there becomes a tendency to reach for poor coping mechanisms that over time can turn into addictions, only to mask pain. In avoiding and doing this you only buy short term dysfunctional comfort and extend long term pain. Thus we have a Battlefield of the Mind. Our emotions are information that lead to thoughts and action.

Example: Emotions can be like weather. Changing rapidly like seasons. Yes, it’s winter, of course it’s snowing! The roads are full of ice and there’s a blizzard advisory on the local news. Will You choose accept that I cannot get my car out of the driveway today and stay home where your safe and warm? Will you choose to walk out, slip on the ice and fall only to end up in the emergency room? Take the car out, get stuck in a dangerous position, or worse-a fatal accident?

Healthy Choice: Today I can choose to think about emotions as they come and accept them as legitimate feelings that I can learn to navigate through and manage. I can take negative emotions and go to the Word of God and look up and compare to what it has to say about that emotion. I can choose to dismantle the negative and apply some positive aspects and decide my best approach to manage safe choices. Today I choose to actively analyze and evaluate my emotions and thought life. I will choose to run my emotions before they run me!

Diet Tip: Emotional eating can allow cravings and unhealthy binging to create havoc on our emotions and weight gain! You can be intentional and choose Mindful eating for your best health yet!

Daily Devotional: 2 Corinthians 10:5

Dose: #20 Spiritual Security

What if tomorrow were your last day on earth? Would you feel Fear for your eternal security or Peace? Have you surrendered your heart and life to Jesus, who holds the keys to life and heaven? When we have spiritual security in HIM, everything here in our daily walk changes. Why? Because Intimacy with the Holy Spirit creates spiritual security and that in turn begins to reflect in the Fruit we bare.

Example: Spiritual Fruit is growth that proves we are connected to the vine!

Fruit of the spirit is Impossible without connection and intimacy. True Fruit of the Spirit is revealed in our actions as: Love, Joy, Peace, Forbearance, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. As this continues to produce and grow our faith is built and spiritual security abides.

Healthy Choice: Today, I will search my heart and decide whom I will serve. I know I cannot serve two masters. I will choose to fully surrender to the Lord, Jesus Christ. I can begin studying the Word and applying it to my life. I will find a home church and teach my children, as well lead others to the Lord. When fear comes my way I will overturn it by quoting scriptures that bring security.

Diet Tip: Daily Bread (the Word of God) will fill you to overflowing satisfaction and security.

Daily Devotional: Galatians 5:22-23

Dose: #19 Physical Stamina

What does it mean to physically stand with Staying Power? When the storms of life come, what does it take to stand firm with physical strength in a turbulent climate? It not only requires physical exercise but putting on the proper attire. Good survival skills are a must! Proper training for staying power should be practiced and put in place long before the atmosphere changes! Physical stamina can pull from our mental, emotional, and spiritual reserves.

Example: a winter storm can come in the form of a death, a job loss, a prodigal child, a physical impairment, or a traumatic tragedy.

Healthy Choice: I can make decisions today to build my physical stamina so that when a storm arrives, I will not fall. I will prepare myself in the Word that gives me full instruction on strength and stamina. I will develop a diet and exercise program that is most beneficial and unique to me. I can mentally role play scenarios and develop my desired responses and outcomes. I know that my holistic preparation will prompt and aide my physical reactions and overall stamina.

Diet Tip: Leafy greens, peanut butter, and fish are great sources for building stamina.

Daily Devotional: Ephesians 6:11

Dose: #18 Mental Endurance

Have you ever faced a challenging crossroad? Has that crossroad ever seemed impossible? It appears to be too wide, too deep, too threatening. In our minds we cannot see or envision the other side. Our mental focus can hold us back from stepping out in Faith and creating action that will ultimately bridge the crossroad. Imagine reaching the destination and the journey to the other side was actually easier than your original thoughts and perception!

Example: What if that crossroad looks like a path that leads to a new career, educational degree, weight loss, a health challenge, marriage help, or parenting decisions? What will you do to mentally endure the decision making process and do the work to overcome the crossroad?

Healthy Choice: Today I can focus on preparing a plan of action that I can physically put into practice. I can mentally prepare myself that other people, circumstances, finances, and daily life occurrences may come as distractions or a negative force. I can make up my mind and set my mind on the end goals. I can set up a vision board to focus daily and remind me where my endurance will land on the other side of the crossroad!

Diet Tip: Organic Coffee, Vitamin C, Protein, and Complex Carbs are All Energizers and boost endurance!

Daily Devotional: Philippians 4:13

Dose: #17 Emotional Rest

Do you ever feel like life is throwing curve balls, multiple things coming at you at once and you find yourself trying to dodge being knocked down? It happens in many forms. With so much happening in the world today, it’s even easy to get emotionally invested in the chaos from television, social media, & radio! If you allow your emotions to be overly engaged and heightened for long periods of time it can begin to affect you physically. The mind is powerful.

Example: A Heated Election, Ongoing debates and Moral issues. Maintaining your focus for weeks after weeks can get your emotions spinning to the point that your blood pressure rises! The same with sports games; wins and losses. Though being engaged in important or fun matters may be great in the beginning, when it actually starts to negatively effect you; it may be time to refocus on some other areas.

Healthy Choice: I know that allowing my emotions to stay in fight or flight mode with adrenaline rushing is not good for my health. When I notice feeling angry, upset, discouraged and sad for a lengthy period of time I will choose to recognize this and refocus my mind. I can take a break from social media and too many phone calls, people and turn off the TV/radio. It’s ok to shut off all the noise. I will disengage and rest in silence for periods of time and give myself resting time to think in peace.

Diet Tip: Chamomile Tea and Honey can help with tranquility and aide in rest and peaceful sleep.

Daily Devotional: Phil. 4:6 John 14:27 Eccl. 4:6

Dose #16: Spiritual Leaning

Leaning into the Word means to have a positioned posture to receive, accept and ultimately apply the learned material and/or revelation to your daily life and walk with Christ. Leaning into a message, spoken word and focusing on what is meant specifically for you has the ability to transform your heart and mind. Transformation is a process and like the caterpillar you can be wrapped up in the dark, growing weight and wings, and as the light cracks metamorphosis has taken place. As this process is matured the decision to continue absorbing the nutritional value of the cocoon and acknowledge the new strength of our wings will determine how high we’re willing to fly!

Example: How much you pay attention to what is being said and the message being delivered depends on your hunger for growth. How much you desire to read scripture and inspirational books may notate your spiritual thirst. How you choose to spend your time can reveal your desires.

Healthy Choice: Today I will evaluate what I choose to lean into. I will pay attention and take note of whose voice I’m listening to and what I allow in through TV, radio, and social media. I can create a list of daily activities and choose options to lean into that are valuable, nutritional, and satisfying to me. I will feed my spiritual hunger and thirst. I will grow and Fly!

Diet Tip: What you are hungering and thirsting for physically can reveal a deficiency in certain vitamins and nutrients.

Daily Devotional: Matthew 5:6 Hebrews 10:25 Proverbs 3:5

Dose #15: Physical Well-Being

Did you know that changes in your day to day routine, regular time away, vacation, and time alone-sabbaticals can strengthen you physically? When the mind is overloaded and stressed it is simply a matter of time before the body feels the effects. If you’re in constant fight or flight mode, the cardiovascular system, nervous system and sleep cycle are in a race, and will wear and tear on the body.
Did you know that standing at the edge of the ocean can have holistic healing effects to your well/being? When we find peace; body, soul, & spirit relaxes. We must listen to our bodies and learn when to take a break!

Example: A week long time out with a change of scenery and fun and interesting things to do can break the stress cycle, slow you down and give time to recharge for upcoming events and big decisions that may be weighing you down.

Healthy Choice: Today I can take a few moments and create a list of things to do or places to visit in this season that can help me find peace and revive! It may be walks by the lake, a picnic in the park, visit to the beach, exercise, or time away alone to Think and Rest. I will choose and plan time slots in my busy week for peace, relaxation, and rejuvenating physically.

Diet Tip: Vitamin C and D have profound properties that keep our immune system healthy and ward off illness and disease. So grab a Fresh squeezed Orange juice and a morning stroll in the Sun!

Daily Devotional: Psalm 29:11 3 John 1-2 Romans 12:1

Dose #14: Mental Gain

King Solomon didn’t ask for fame and fortune…He asked for Wisdom. As we seek wisdom and knowledge our mind becomes challenged and intellect builds. God brings Instructors, teachers, and advisors into our midst that we may glean from them and learn. When we accept the word that says iron sharpens iron and practice with patience what it means to have an open heart, mind and teachable spirit; we become lifelong learners. Mentally we become wiser and full of a broad spectrum of knowledge.
Example: To become well rounded and educated requires studying multiple areas and subject topics, roles, and applications. A Master Gardener May need to study all different types of seeds, plants, flowers, vegetables, fruits as well soil grades, fertilizer, weather patterns and elements like heat and light. Doing so will teach and guide you in growing a healthy harvesting garden.

Healthy Choice: Today I can select 1-3 topics I would like to learn about, begin to build my knowledge base and create goals to line up with and strive to finish with a successful outcome.

Diet Tip: Food is Fuel! Never skip breakfast as it jump starts the mind and body entering into your day! A great healthy starter is plain Greek yogurt, organic berries, and nuts with a light drizzle of raw local honey.

Daily Devotional: Hosea 4:62 Chronicles 1:11Proverbs 27:17

Dose #13: Emotional Stability

One big factor in emotional stability is Trust. When we trust God, we remove our human capabilities of emotional strength and trust that He will calm, soothe, give peace, and make our days and burdens lighter. Trusting Him is very beneficial to our inner peace and confidence. Who or what are you trusting in today?

Example: When you travel by airplane (or train) and anxiety or questioning arises, what do you do? What can settle fears, calm the storm inside, and bring stability overall? Emotional anxiety and imbalance can manifest in stomach aches, nausea, headaches and so forth as a secondary physical reaction. What you choose to focus on can determine the outcome.

Healthy Choice: Today I will decide to trust in the Lord when I experience uncomfortable emotions. I can focus my attention toward prayer and intimate relationship with him knowing I can come boldly before the throne with all of my concerns and petitions. I understand that I was created to rule and reign and with that was given dominion and authority over anything and everything including negative emotions that come against The Design for my life! I can ASK for what I need. I can request that He dispatch angels concerning my welfare. I can ASK that HE calm my storm knowing that even the wind and waves obey Him! Because of who He is and His strength I can be secure that my emotional weakness can become stable and healthy.

Diet Tip: Emotional overeating and indulging can mask symptoms of pain and anxieties thus causing unwanted weight gain that can trigger emotions. Intentionally thinking about meal plans and food choices can positively effect your overall healthy balance.

Daily Devotional: Matthew 11:28 Isaiah 38:7 Hebrews 6:18

Dose #12: Spiritual Revelation

Yes!-God does speaks to us, through us, and reveals his plans with instructions and direction when we have an open heart, listening ear, and willingness to obey. His revelation will always line up with His word in scripture.

Example: A fresh revelation may come in the form of a dream, vision, prophesy or spoken word. Discernment and Wisdom will determine what your next steps will be.

Healthy Choice: In order to fulfill an instruction or walk in obedience to an assignment you will need a plan of action. When receiving a dream or hearing that still small voice: Get up and write it down, draw it, compare it to scripture and Ask God for clarity and full revelation. What are my Next Steps? Dose #11: Physical Strain

Do you ever find that your physical body is trying to communicate that rest is needed? Sore muscles, aches, pains, and headaches can be signs to us that we need to slow down! The mind can be speeding, racing, setting multiple things on your daily agenda but overdoing it will slowly but shortly catch up to the body.

Example: A full day planner of physical work, grocery and household shopping, kids athletics, recreational hobbies, long distance driving, personal responsibilities, educational goals, taking care of spouses, children and families, financial planning, and workaholic patterns of behaviors are sure to effect the whole body system and wear and tear on the physical health. Realize that behind every successful person is a plan of action and boundaries.

Placing helpful boundaries and learning to say No is okay. I can set my top 3 priorities for the day on the checklist and work from there, it’s okay to be flexible. I will choose not to overload myself and take care of me….sometimes the dishes and laundry can wait until tomorrow. I will make time for walking and exercise to strengthen my body. Daily physical exercise is on my calendar.

Diet Tip: Eating a Clean vibrant diet and eliminating toxic foods will decrease stress on the body. Keeping excess weight off will maintain good health and keep pressure off of your joints and muscles.

Dose# 9: Emotional Suffering

Human emotions are powerful and can effect the physical body positively or negatively. When our emotions are balanced toward the positive; we feel a sense of peace, the body relaxes and daily functioning can be joyful and productive. However when we experience negative emotions that linger, it can cause great distress, suffering and be physically draining. The negative imbalance can cause a loss of joy, happiness and depression may set it.

Diet Tip: Insufficient levels of Vitamin D can lead to mood swings, depression, and fatigue. You may consider incorporating vitamins & supplements in your diet plan.

Daily Devotional: Psalm 34:17-20 Psalm 147:3 John 14:27

It has been said that healing begins in the gut. If we can get our gut and digestive system healthy; we will begin to heal from the inside out. Eating clean, Whole Foods, vitamins, supplements, collagen, protein and plenty of water can jumpstart your process! Refined sugar, dairy, and gluten can be aggravators to the Gut. Dose #6: Mental Strength

Have you ever felt like your mental strength has been challenged by overwhelming responsibilities, rejections, negative influences and/or naysayers? This is where we have to lean in and trust the Lord and his timing! Building mental strength comes from learning, evaluating, analyzing, and testing our environment, relationships, and atmosphere of our surroundings. The old saying “Garbage In & Garbage Out” tells us that what we allow IN will be released and reflected outwardly. If you take in negativity, you may experience a decrease and mental weakness. The question is Do you want to be Strong?

Example: When you don’t draw clear boundary lines with negative people, influences and environments; you run the risk of becoming mentally drained, negative, and unhealthy.

Dose #5:Emotional Anxiety

Some Anxiety can be situational and pose as a positive catalyst when bridging, transitioning, or walking into something new. The fact that it could be a helpful benefactor would most likely be if you have learned tools to channel and maintain it in order to get to the other side…That being said, if not tempered anxiety can become a dominator and quite debilitating. When we are completely connected to The Vine, we have a powerful mediator who is The Source for taking anxious thoughts captive. He has also granted wisdom to medical professionals for additional help in balancing the body. It’s important not to suffer in silence if emotions become uncontrollable.

Example: Some mild anxiety may be normal, such as preparing for a public speaking event, a wedding, or a board exam. It can serve you to push though, prepare well, and study. After you attain what’s on the other side, your next tasks may become lighter and easier to control the reins.

Healthy Choices: Today I will make a list of the Top 5 things that stir my anxiety. I will research exercises and tools (such as rehearsing, breathing techniques, or physical exercises) that can bring greater awareness and de escalate my anxieties. I will begin to put them in practice when I feel anxiety beginning to rise. I will make a commitment to myself, that if becomes unmanageable, I’ll seek counseling/medical help.

Diet Tip: Over consumption of Caffeine can be a contributing factor to anxiety and jitters.

Daily Devotional: Philippians 4:6-7 Psalm 23 Proverbs 12:25

Dose #4:Spiritual Growth

Spiritual growth is not an option for the believer. It comes from a hunger deep within which grows and produces fruit on your life. A spirit filled life is no comparison to the worldly life; that is like an apple and an orange! We have to be careful and wise what we choose to fill our lives with because the worlds fruit is Wormy! Eve grabbed a deliciously appealing apple off of the wrong tree and she had No Idea what seeds it had on the inside or the consequences attached to it!

Spirit-Filled Fruit comes in many forms.

Example: Today I will search my heart and ask myself some hard questions? Am I living a life pleasing to God? Am I spiritually alive or dead? What fruit is being displayed in my life; healthy or dysfunctional attributes? Am I Worshipping, Serving, & Growing my Faith?

Healthy Choice: I will begin to incorporate more worship and study of the Word into my day. FROM PAIN TO THE PULPIT

PAIN POSITIONED ME, PASSION PROVOKED ME, PURPOSE PROPELLED ME ~ Dana McCartney-Candillo

I remember trying to drive my old, junky car away from his house. I was gasping for air, I could not breathe. I had lost the only good thing in my life, the love of my life, my heart. I can say this is the closest I ever felt to being suicidal. I drove hysterically to an old friend’s house; reverting to my old self-searching for drugs to numb this intense pain. I was in so much pain. I could not lift my head.~SURRENDERED SHOWGIRL

When the Pain is so great, we are motivated to create change! It is no longer negotiable! We will pursue relentlessly! Do you want to be made well? The Greatest Example that I can apply is the story found in scripture of the man at the  pool of Bethesda. John 5:6-9 says, When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” “Sir, the invalid replied, ” I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Get Up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.

When we are hurting, this is what we may believe about ourselves; that we cannot take steps on our own toward the pool of water. We may feel feelings such as devalued, unloved, disconnected, rejected, alone, helpless and powerless. Can we ask the Lord, What do you say about me? How do you see me? As we begin to answer these questions, can we Embrace our Truth? Can we Embrace Grace? Friends, pain is like a double-edged sword. It can be a catalyst for Change! Pain can birth goals, desires, and passion. It can spark creativity and motivation. It can spark a Fire! And that blaze can refine your heart, spirit, and soul. It can redefine your self image, mold, and shape a new heart and once again become fully alive with Hope. That kind of exchange is what brings about new things to life. When we are able to deal with our own feelings and emotions (in which knowing that feelings are not always right), then we gain the capability to help others walk through painful circumstances in this life. Let’s face it, we live in a world filled with pain. Jesus said there would be, John 16:33 says,” I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

As we hold true to His Word and Trust, we can walk whole and free. When painful things come our way we can stand firm on His Truth and be strong for not only ourselves but for others going through the storms of life. Our stories can unlock someone else’s prison! Know that what we are not able to master, will eventually master us. So Today, Master Pain, Put on the full armor of God so that you can move in a relentless pursuit toward reaching others in their trials and difficulties. Remember it is not about us….it is about them! When you can speak to Pain and Reach One-You can reach the World…One by One! ~ Pain is my Pulpit,

Dana

HAVE YOU DISCOVERED A GOLD MINE?

I went home that first night with several hundred dollars. I could not believe the gold mine that I had found! I had no clue of the price tag attached to it! I had no idea of the years of tears, fears, anxiety, scars, distress and damage that it was going to eventually cause me.~ (SURRENDERED SHOWGIRL)

What are you spending your time searching for? How far would you GO to find it? If you are looking through the lens of the naked eye or even binoculars, All that Glitters Is Not Gold! Like foolish love you may engage in the chase only to find an empty mine. It is Fools Gold! It’s shine and luster radiate only  a superficial resemblance of Gold. To look for it is like a romantic race searching and searching for a long lost treasure. Where does true treasure exist? Will you travel the Globe or will you be still and look deep inside yourself? Will you search for it in others, things, places, items, relationships, or achievements? They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be an unclean thing. Their silver and gold will not be able to save them in the day of the LORD’S wrath. They will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs with it, for it had made them stumble into sin”.~ Ezekiel 7:19 NIV.

I have searched ALL over, every stone overturned and came up empty handed with nothing. I have found Nothing in cheap fool’s gold to compare with pure gold. I NEVER found gold in a bottle, drugs, an  immoral/outrageous lifestyle, money, houses, cars, traveled places or academic achievements! I NEVER found pure gold that any amount of money could buy!  The pure gold is only found when the heart is tested, this is where all the treasure lies. It’s within the broken vessel, the heart of man. The real Gold Mine is found in a relationship with Christ. I don’t know about you but I have searched the world over and traveled far and wide and come up with the obvious conclusion:  I’ve found Nothing else to compare or satisfy. This third I will put into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. they will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, “They are my people”, and they will say, “The Lord is our God.”~ Zechariah 13:9 NIV.

This treasure awaits and is everlasting! It is a treasure worth storing up! Anything less than the pure gold found in Jesus will leave the mine hollow and empty.   Have you found your Gold Mine?…… How far will you GO to find it?….Min. Dana McCartney Candillo

He tells him to look inside himself and acknowledge that he is “More” than what he has become…and that he Must take his rightful place in the Kingdom (the Circle of Life)!~SURRENDERED SHOWGIRL

Do you struggle at times with who you have become? Do you often wonder “What is My Purpose”? Do you consider what it would be like to Rise to the occasion and take your rightful  place next to the King, and walk in the purpose that He has created and called you for? When you “Remember who you Are”, you can and will process through and move into your Destiny. We must realize that we are His Royalty, His Heirs and He has a plan for each and every one of us to fulfill. When you Rise and Walk with Him, you become Fully Alive. He takes us by the hand and guides us in new paths, new directions, and orchestrates our steps. With Him we can walk in deep waters, travel to new heights, and move in new levels of the supernatural. Only when we forget who we are and forget who He is, will we begin to sink. A life with Him will require great Trust and being required to abide in the uncomfortable zone. I have found the uncomfortable zone to be a great challenge but experienced the miraculous, unforeseen, moving of the Holy Spirit in ways that can barely be humanly expressed. I have walked in realms where I Know it is clearly His mighty shield surrounding and protecting me in ways that are unexplainable. Many times, I’ve laid down my plan and agenda and just stood amazed at His leading and watched as unexpected doors flew open and favor is fallen and relationships and trust is attained to allow tremendous ministry opportunities. When we move in His Circle, Nothing is breaking it nor entering in that He doesn’t allow. If He says drink the cup, He means drink the cup and If He says take the bread, he means take the bread. Will we obey? Will we deliver when we are uncomfortable? When it doesn’t fit in our agenda? Will we Rise, carry our cross, face the unthinkable at times, minister “out of the box”, skip out of the ordinary to experience the Extraordinary? Jesus Did…and the stone was rolled away, He was obedient to the cross, He is the ONE, Seated at the Right hand of the Father and He gave the Victor’s Crown!! He calls us to Follow and Rise and Build His Kingdom, to help and guide others on their journey. This Easter will you Rise, take your place, find your purpose and Invite someone into His house, into His presence, so that they may hear and learn of His Great Love and Plans….THE EASTER MESSAGE!

U.S. REALITY = HUMAN TRAFFICKING

THE SET-UP: He literally begged and pressured me, coercing me with compliments of how beautiful I was and what a “killer body” I had and that I would make “so much money”, assuring me that I would be one of his top earners. He had “accounts” set up……He would not let up with his pressure tactics and manipulation. He had it all planned out….he had a hotel set up…..He just kept on pressuring saying that I would make thousands of dollars…..I got in my old car and set off to follow JT’s instructions. Under his influence and direction, I now feel (at that point) in my life I was being trafficked into the sex industry. (SURRENDERED SHOWGIRL)

As January~~Human Sex Trafficking Awareness month comes to a close many thoughts come to mind. Not many people have full clarity or understanding on what that label actually means or can fathom and grasp it’s harsh realities. One thing is for sure, It IS NOT just happening in other countries…It IS happening in the United States in EVERY zip code! To some it can mean several different things and takes on many forms and layers. It’s many facets are dark, brutal, sinister, and difficult to measure or escape. Statistics claim that it’s entanglement occurs more times than not by baiting and mind control rather than force. Layers of flattery, games, fear, manipulation, domination, degradation, shame, devaluing, lies, false illusions of reality, force, coercion, harassment, drugs and alcohol, bondage tactics , and rape of the soul are all involved realities of this twisted and sick monopoly game. The internet and pornography are fueling the epidemic. It involves predators profiling and victimizing the weak for selfish gain and profit. When we talk about the sex industry as a whole it encompasses various degrees of sexual exploitation and violation. Many victims are lured by false promises only to find it was bait and switch and becomes instantly a battlefield of the mind. Most victims have already been sexually abused and/or abandoned as children. Many endured the hardships of foster care, runaways, horrific home lives, and worse. However a person gets sucked in, once involved it gets darker and darker and becomes total entrapment. What can be done to prevent, help, rescue, and restore? First and Foremost~We begin with FIERCE Prayer. Without Jesus, there is No Real Rescue! * We raise awareness and know what red flags to look for, we educate others. *We need to reach out with a Non-judgmental approach, love and acceptance and LOVE people right where they are at! *We need to resource people. * We need to live in the light, hunt in the dark, and not walk in fear. * We need to answer the call to loving foster homes and provide safety-taking in older children and teens that have already most likely been through unimaginable terrors in their young lives. * We need to advocate for justice * We need to BE THE CHURCH! * We need to support women and help provide tools and teach with love-the Word of God and plant seeds that will result in the PROCESS of a beautiful Transformation and Healing. * We need to commit to the cause of Reaching One and ending the sexual exploitation of women and children in our communities and our nation. **WHAT are you willing to do? Are you willing to take the first step and unite in prayer? Are you willing to get your hands dirty? Will you fight for freedom and  justice? Will you commit to not click?  Will you remain part of the problem or part of the solution? Everyone can DO SOMETHING!

THE VOICE

It is up to us to listen and hear. Just then I heard that “still small voice” saying to me, “Get out of here! You do not belong here; this is not for you…Do Not Return”! (SURRENDERED SHOWGIRL)

That Voice…soft, quiet, and still. It is so simple & surreal…dreamlike but so real. If we  position ourselves to hear from Heaven, Jesus surely speaks. His voice is clear & concise and will orchestrate and lead the way. Its tone is peaceful and gentle yet so Powerful and Directive. So many times in my life I was relying on it and did not even know it! If we’ve know Him, He never leaves. Even in the midst of trials, mistakes, poor decisions, times of trouble, and steering off track, He is big enough to keep us! Even then, He is still speaking….it’s up to us to listen. In my most difficult times when I was sinking deeper and deeper that voice was Still there. At times I tried to avoid it, thinking I could figure it all out myself. After all, I was the one running. So Many times just as I was about to make the greatest mistakes and worst decisions that could’ve changed the course of my life Forever…that Voice got louder. It eventually got louder and louder as I was reaching the point of desperation and reached a point in the wall that I could no longer climb. I didn’t need a hand out, I needed a helping hand! That still small voice reached the depths of my soul and extended a hand of Grace that no one else has the capability to offer! It transformed my mind, heart, & soul. It has caused me to chase after the wind to find it. It is a Must Have.  That voice is what is meant & needed to breathe. Without it, who can find real direction or destiny? He will lead us to Purpose. I am always listening for it, now I Know it.  When I stand at the edge of the Ocean, It is Crystal Clear. Who’s voice are you listening to today? Who are you trusting? ~ Dana

Spirit Lead me where my trust is without borders, let me walk upon the waters wherever you will call me . Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander and my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my savior. (Oceans, Hillsong)

SHOES & SEEDS OF GREATNESS

In closing, may I say to the church, the Body of Christ-there are many seeds of greatness sitting in congregations today just waiting to be lifted and called forth. We can never judge a book by the cover or know who we are speaking to or what soil our words are falling on. We must be the hands and feet of Jesus and extend grace and mercy to people and love them right where they are.  (SURRENDERED SHOWGIRL)

There are some shoes you will never walk in, want to walk in, or be forced to walk in. Some shoes are high and  glamourized, uncomfortable and very hard to walk in, and they hurt! They can hurt in more ways than one. They may have been handed down, selected for you, fitted for you, bought for you or thought to be so beautiful that you put them on yourself, never realizing the price tag that was attached to them.  Later to find they were way too expensive, costly, and hurt to the point of damaging your feet and your walk…..there’s no way to really run in them!  Whatever the many reasons were that you ended up wearing them-sometimes they’re awful hard to take off and let go of…sometimes you refuse to take them off because they have an emotional attachment. Let’s face it, women love shoes! They say, “When the shoe fits, wear it”! Sometimes we will  wear those shoes until we can no longer bare it, until the heels are falling apart, straps worn out, and our feet aching beyond belief! We become dependant on them, not knowing that another style may look, feel, and fit so much better. Can you stop and think what shoes you were wearing before these were placed on your feet? What was your walk like before? Were there seeds deposited in your life before you put your high-priced stilettos on and walked away? Can you slow down your pace or will  you fall hard on your knees? Some shoes were only designed for appearances and are best to remain on the shelf!

One thing is for sure, it’s not certain what  the reason for the choice of the shoes ever was but there is Always a Why behind the What! We cannot judge people for where/how they are walking in life…we don’t know what’s behind the shoes. It’s most likely shame, pain, abuse, trauma, single parenthood,  drugs, and possible force. If her shoes carry her into the church, will you judge by the style or will you see beyond the cracked heels and worn out leather to call out the seeds of greatness, plant deeper seeds and cultivate the soil? Will you frown, judge, and turn her away?…If so there’s a high likelihood she will eventually  burn out and be at risk–  she may fall prey to trafficking in the hands of a pimp. Will you choose to LOVE her right were she is at? Who knows, she may trade in her stilettos for a great pair of running shoes! She may decide to run for God! She may just be the next Stripper to Saint! ~Dana~

A NEW THING

HE makes All things “NEW”! (He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:5 NIV)…..Likewise when we look into the human heart and begin to strip away the entire hardened exterior, beneath all of the pain and scars from life, lays the protected original and unique state, tender, soft, and pliable. When the true condition is exposed and vulnerable; it then is ready to be molded and shaped in truth by the Potter’s hand. Once again it becomes fully ALIVE! (SURRENDERED SHOWGIRL)

With this New Year, are you ready for God to do a “New Thing” in your Life? What is that one thing that you have been putting off, dreaming about, praying about, and waiting for? God wants to do a new thing in your life! Are you ready and willing to participate? It will most likely involve getting up off of the sofa! Getting out of your comfort zone, saying Yes and setting your feet in motion! We have to move along side of God. Do not allow the delay of fear or intimidation to hold you back any longer! Fear & Intimidation are not of God! If God has called you to do something “out of the box”…Just do it! Don’t worry about thoughts of others…people fear what they do not understand and/or do not want to learn about. Whatever God’s plan & purpose is for your life ~ it is Yours! If He has something New for you to do then He will not fail you! It is better to be obedient and try and experience His plan of Glory than to ultimately live in regret with the thoughts of never knowing what you may have missed out on! Just remember whatever the Past holds…it is the PAST!…..Your future is awaiting…Find YOUR Purpose & Arise, Come Alive  in 2015!~Dana

MARY & THE MISFIT

I was there with all the other eight year olds and felt like I just wasn’t normal and did not fit in anywhere. Something was just wrong with me…..(SURRENDERED SHOWGIRL)

The struggle was and is misidentification. I think Mary Magdalene could relate! She was a Woman and traveled with Jesus as one of His followers. She was a prominent figure…..Luke 8:1-3 (The Message) says: He continued according to plan, traveled to town after town, spreading the Message. The Twelve were with him. There were also some women in their company who had been healed of various evil afflictions and illnesses: Mary, the one called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out; Joanna, wife of Chuza, Herod’s manager; Susanna–along with many others who used their considerable means to provide for the company. She supported His ministry! It is stated that within the four gospels she is named at least 12 times-more than most apostles! (Encyclopedia) She was present at the crucifixion and the resurrection. She was Brave, Bold, and Courageous. She was the first person to see Jesus after the resurrection. Yet, her identity was shaped as a “loose woman”, a prostitute and wasn’t until later became transformed and known to be a Saint, a Heroine in the Faith. She was a “Misfit”, a “Box Breaker”! She was unusual, uncommon, and unique. She was talked about, whispered about, and condemned as she broke the box of expensive oils/perfume and anointed the feet of Jesus. She didn’t care about the onlookers.  She let go of all of her wicked ways, followed Him, and walked right into her purpose! It takes Big shoes to walk where Mary walked and ignore the voices of judges who were living as hypocrites, self-serving, full of pride, fear, and wrong believing….Fearful people are intimidated by what they do not understand and do not care to learn. This is still happening in churches and in the world today. What are you willing to learn? What will you allow your heart to comprehend? Where and How far will you walk to accompany Jesus?~Dana

BRIDGE THE GAP

“He had an extraordinary plan that one day He would allow me to recognize as He revealed it. A mighty plan to be a bridge over and across a great divide. A bridge that troubled water could become calm and flow into a river of peace. A bridge set apart with a divine destiny and purpose”……(SURRENDERED SHOWGIRL)

What does it mean to become a bridge, to stand in the gap? What does it mean to be a “Gap Leader”? Perhaps you may say it means an outstretched arm, a welcoming invitation, or  an extension of direction. What if that’s not enough? What if standing in the gap actually means becoming like a bridge, becoming Love in Action? Love in action would actually look like visualizing the issue or the problem and deciding to “do something” about it! It is not enough to see it, pass by, and/or ignore it. A Gap Leader would let down the draw bridge, walk over it herself, get her hands dirty, take action, confront the circumstance, love, rescue and lead the person across the great divide where peace abides and destiny awaits. I am reminded of the Good Samaritan . I would definitely consider him to be a Gap Leader. As the others all passed by the beaten and rejected man (Luke 10:30), they just kept walking by. They saw the situation, a person hurt, broken, lost, and in great need but had no intention of getting involved or correcting the injustice. However, as the Good Samaritan strolled by…at one glance he took pity, was moved by compassion and decided to be the bridge-the gap and decided to take action. His actions involved Love and Mercy. He helped the person across the bridge to safety and to be made well.  The actions of the leader stood as a great example and model of sacrifice. Sometimes love in action requires a risk, people talking, embarrassment, and becoming a target. When we step out on faith to “do something” great, something that could change the world, it is not always easily accepted. I have found that it is greater to walk in Love, destiny, and purpose than to remain in my seat, watch the injustices, visualize the troubled water and sit back or walk by and do nothing. What will it take to cause you to rise up, stand in the gap, get your hands dirty, and set forth in motion Love in Action? What will it take to propel you to another level and fill in some gaps for the sake of the Savior? He is our example~ Love in Action!

THANKSGIVING IN “THE HEARTLAND”

There are times that I have felt a love, appreciation, and thankfulness far greater than I have ever felt in church or in “Christian circles”.  I pray that this ministry breaks down barriers and attitudes of religiosity and judgmental spirits and is a true example of “carrying our cross”.-(SURRENDERED SHOWGIRL)

WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

Welcome to the Jungle, we take it day by day
If you want it you’re gonna bleed but it’s the price you pay
And you’re a very sexy girl who’s very hard to please
You can taste the bright lights but you won’t get them for free ~ Guns & Roses ~
I was on a road to destruction, pure desensitization, and a lustful appetite for money that could NEVER be satisfied!~(SURRENDERED SHOWGIRL)

Day by Day we have a choice. We make the decisions of which environments to place ourselves into, what roads to take, and which paths to ignore. One day I found myself in a very dangerous jungle, an obstacle course in the wilderness actually. One false move, one lie away, too much alcohol, one night of too many drugs, or any significant weight gain could flood the comparisons and become a game changer instantaneously! A jungle of competition, evil intentions, degradation, false illusions…a world of absolute deceit. Buried in the deep trenches of such a jungle causes one to become visually impaired, compromised in hearing, drained and depleted of one’s senses. Thus, caught up in a trap, a snare, so entangled that finding a way out is almost virtually impossible! Captured! Although wicked, the alluring excitement of such a jungle, it’s sights, sounds & atmosphere is sheer trickery and although there is no entry fee the cost to visit it and the cost to escape it is of devastating proportion! The Lights & Glamour, the money made hand over fist all begin to fade as truth and reality sets in. No fantasy and/or monopoly of this magnitude exists for free. Before you click on the computer, enter the doors of the commercial sex industry, or choose illusion over reality, will you consider the cost? Will you research the survival rate of this jungle? Can your marriage survive it? Can your family survive it? Are you sure you can survive and escape it? The truth is NO, you won’t. Nothing about this jungle is free. It will cost you guilt, pain, frustration, shame, depression, anxiety, suspicion, PTSD, financial hardship, and dissatisfaction. It’s a gamble you will never win. Whether choosing to be an employee or a patron, no one exits unaffected. What daily choices will you make? Will they be choices promoting captivity or freedom? It takes a life of the Lion to conquer the jungle. Conform to Him and live in freedom today!

WOMAN WARRIOR

As night falls we drive for hours on the dark city streets, with bright neon lights and signs flashing we are clearly on a mission; a mission of Love and Hope. Our minds and hearts race with the anticipation of all of the awesome God moments and divine appointments that we “know” we are about to encounter. In those moments are genuine and authentic exchanges of unexplainable worth. There are times that I’ve felt a love, appreciation, and thankfulness far greater than I have ever felt in church or in “Christian circles”. I pray that this ministry breaks down barriers and attitudes of religiosity and judgmental spirits and is a true example of “carrying our cross”…..(SURRENDERED SHOWGIRL)

What does it really mean to carry our cross? I believe it starts with the condition of the heart and the passion of which the pursuit is derived. In my case pain positioned me, passion provoked me, and the prize propelled me! True Warriors are formed and fired through a tempering process. They are Made. When the call to carry the cross is resounding, we will pick up our cross, our weapon and move fiercely. A warrior doesn’t carry her weapon in fear and is always poised for a counterattack! She is driven by an internal force ~ a supernatural mandate. Carrying the cross at times can be heavy, lonesome, and hard. Warriors are driven by challenge! A Warrior recovers All~ To a Warrior their are no “untouchables”, anyone bleeding is a man down. Carrying the cross means carrying out the work of Christ which is LOVE. When we carry a weapon, a sword of Love it equals as carrying the light into darkness which as Christians we are all called to do. When our ministry teams hit the streets, we are armed with our weapon, the Cross and Ephesians 6:11~ We have no time to waste with concerns of religiosity, judgmental spirits, or self righteousness. We are each handpicked for a purpose. What is yours? We will continue our fight for Broken Women regardless of voices in the wind and pray that our churches and Christian circles open their arms wider and wider, and expand the Love of the Cross as high as the Sky! It takes a Warrior to take down Goliath, A Fight to the Finish. Are you ready to pick up your Cross, your weapon, and 5 smooth stones? Are you ready to “Do Something” to change the World?
~Dana McCartney-Candillo~

SURRENDERED

“In January of 1994, I had just turned twenty four years old when I walked through the doors of Sheffield Family Life Center in Northeast Kansas City for the first time. I had on white jeans, a colorful shirt, big hair, make-up, long red fingernails, and my red stilettos. I hadn’t really been to church in years unless it was on Easter or Christmas service somewhere and that would’ve been rare. The praise & worship music was loud and intense. I remember looking around and there were people with their hands lifted high and tears were flowing. There was POWER in that place! A Presence-the room was filled with the Holy Spirit! I felt like I had ocean waves in my stomach, rushing and rushing; it was electric. I felt something I had never felt before”…….(SURRENDERED SHOWGIRL)

Reflecting back, that was the day that literally changed my life forever. Ordinary days, routine agendas, and patterns of daily life come and go but no time experienced can compete with the matchless worth of a Divine encounter with the One who created it All! Real Life was passing me by as I was only surrendered to myself. So many opportunities knock everyday posing the question, “Will you surrender”?
We are challenged as too what that will look like on a daily basis? Will it be money, prestige, fame? I was entrapped ~ a slave to money, appearances, applause, and a desperate search for real love. Only to find, it can’t be bought, appearances fade, and the search on our own is never satisfied. Many times we find ourselves in the pools of pain. When the pain is so great~We are motivated to create change~It is no longer negotiable~We will pursue Relentlessly! The real question is “Do you want to be made well”? To be made whole and well requires a life laid down, a full surrender. It’s not easy, it costs, and almost always is a process. It is a learning process of dying to self and being made new. A life surrendered to the Lord is assured to be extraordinary and last forever! In 1994, I let go of myself, the stage & mirrors, the money, the show was over, and surrendered it all to Him who hung on the cross and paid the greatest sacrifice. The electric powerful presence still amazes me today and confirms to me that the stage is set for a beautiful exchange in eternity, a crown of grace. “What are you willing to surrender”? “Are you ready to pick up your mat and be made well”? Today is your Day!
Get Ready! Get Ready! Get Ready!
~Dana~
